Why choose Foundations?
High-Quality, Affordable, Nationally Accredited Education.
Our teachers use teachers use the internationally recognized HighScope Early Education curriculum in a child-centered, experiential environment.
In a HighScope preschool program, teachers ignite children’s interest in learning by creating an environment that encourages them to explore learning materials and interact with adults and peers. We focus on supporting early learners as they make decisions, build academic skills, develop socially and emotionally, and become part of a classroom community.
We hold NAEYC accreditation, a privilege that only 4% of all childcare centers in the state of Michigan have attained. NAEYC accreditation offers the assurance that a certified center is committed and capable of addressing the cognitive, emotional, physical, social and language development needs of every child enrolled in its care.
All lead teachers have degrees in Early Childhood Education. The teaching staff is supported by a Program Director, Social Worker, and our Executive Director.
Social and Academic Intervention Services/ Trauma-Informed Care
Foundations Preschool provides on-going social and academic intervention services to address developmental delays that may impede future learning. We employ a part-time social worker whose role is to support the teachers, students and parents; coordinate with the Program Director and Executive Director to create relevant family outreach and educational programming; and participate in on-going quality assurance and program evaluation
We recognize parents as a child’s “first teacher” and we work to equip Foundations Preschool parents with support services that add stability to the family unit, while also helping parents to effectively reinforce the academic and social skills developed in school.
We offer monthly parent workshops that focus on early childhood education, parenting skills, financial literacy, and other interesting and helpful topics. We provide monthly bi-lingual newsletters to provide helpful information on our programs, ideas for home activities, and upcoming events. We help with family emergencies (such as food, clothing, etc.) through our Family Emergency Fund and Parent Empowerment Program.
