The Turtle room supports infant development, engagement, and overall well-being in a carefully and thoughtfully designed space.
Our nurturing and responsive teachers create positive relationships with all children to support their learning and development. We provide a safe and flexible environment to accommodate the ever-changing interests and needs of our youngest learners. Additionally, a consistent yet adaptable routine supports each child’s individual needs and allows for engagement and building independence.e
Our toddler rooms provides a rich environment that encourages children to explore and discover their world to promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development appropriate for this age.
The HighScope curriculum emphasizes active learning; our classroom environments are filled with sensory-motor materials that toddlers can reach, explore, and play with in their own way at their own pace. Our outdoor exploration areas help young children develop motor skills and allows them to test their abilities while continually developing new skills through play. Our teaching staff records observations of the children daily to ensure children are meeting developmental milestones.

Infant/Toddler Program FAQ
What items do I need to bring for my child?
Families provide diapers and wipes, a change of clothing, and appropriate outdoor clothing/gear. If the parents opt out of our food program, they may bring their own breast milk/formula and meals/snacks for their child. Foundations Preschool will supply rest time bedding.
How do you keep parents/guardians up to date on their child’s day?
Each classroom uses Class Dojo to update families about their child’s day. Teachers share artwork, pictures, and class happenings daily. Foundations also shares school closings, community events, and other important information on Class Dojo.

What is your curriculum?
We use the HighScope curriculum, which was developed through research and knowledge from all areas of child development. Emphasizing active learning and a consistent routine, the curriculum allows children to make choices throughout the day. This curriculum offers children many opportunities for positive interactions with other children and adults – and focuses on the development of the whole child (social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and language). HighScope lays a foundation for children to move seamlessly through each developmental stage with appropriate beginner skills in math, reading readiness, science, and social awareness.
